Overview
As one of the most historical cities in the world, Rome is perhaps the most unique of Europe?s cities. With all of its aesthetics, the many worthwhile sightseeing attractions within Rome?s walls can hardly be fully traversed during one short vacation to the city. Rome?s center begins with the centro storico, bordered in the east by the River Tiber and the west by Via del Corso. However, the hub of the city spreads eastward from the center to the district of Spagna, southward to the Colosseo, and northward to the Villa Borghese. Westward from the city?s center is Vatican City. The location of the Vatican is less busy than the other Roman districts and is best reached by bus, though most other parts of Rome are best traversed on foot.

Sightseeing Attractions
There are entirely too many sightseeing attractions in Rome to name each. However, there are a few main attractions that are central to a visit to Rome. One of the largest attractions is the Pantheon, located in Rome?s central district. Rome?s historical attractions then extend to Colosseo, south of the city?s center. Colosseo is the location of ancient Rome, home to the Coliseum, the Arch of Constantine, Palatine Hill, and the Roman Forum. Spagna, to the east of the center, is home to the Spanish Steps and the Mausoleum of Augustus. In the west is Vatican City, home to the Sistine Chapel, St. Peters Basilica, St. Peters Piazza, and the Vatican Museum. Fori Imperiali is a wonderful attraction because visitors can climb to the top for a spectacular view of Vatican City. There are also numerous churches and museums that appeal to Rome?s tourists. For museums, visit the Capitoline Museums, Palazzo Massimo, Galleria Borghese, and the Villa Giulia Museum. Rome?s ancient churches are scattered throughout the city.

Nightlife
Shopping, dining, and drinking in Rome are not difficult ventures; however, though Rome?s vibrant nightlife is an experience of its own, the historical and cultural attractions of the city definitely triumph the city?s nightlife scene. For a night on the town, a good place to venture is the district of Testaccio. Many bars and clubs are scattered around the streets of this district, most offering either live music or a DJ. In the summer, Roman clubs move their parties outdoors, and, in the winter, many clubs are closed for the off-season. Traditional Italian cuisine can be found on every corner, though Roman restaurants also offer many worldly cuisine options. The city?s center and its surrounding areas are the best places to find ample shopping, dining, and drinking adventures.
